The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Hey, can’t say I’ve exactly been away from my computer this time, and I can’t say I’ve been busy, either. Well, I have, but not in the way you’d expect. I mean this isn’t your usual ‘I have commissions and jobs to finish’ busy, no. This is your ‘I have Skyrim to play, Dragons to slay, and bounties to pay’ busy. What can I say though? It’s an epic game…even if no one I know apart from George will believe me :(

Anyway, enough of my hermit life in front of the very screen I am typing on, it’s time to update you on some things in my (very small, hermity, and boring) life. First things first! I’m redecorating! Lame, I know, but I honestly can’t remember what’s happened since holiday…it all seems to be filled in with playing Skyrim all day, every day…and maybe it has, I don’t know. Carrying on though, this redecoration really does suck. I mean, who knew wielding a paint pad could be so hard! I managed to paint one wall yesterday, ONE, and my arms were burning like fire. Turns out that these cursed things require a second coat though! I honestly believe that somewhere out there, someone has figured one coat paint…but I’ve just probably never seen it, or they’re just unwilling to share it with me. Either way, I still wish I had it right now, especially when I’m meant to be repainting the whole house, which is more than just a few walls, I assure you.

Secondly, ah, the memories are coming back now, I did get to meet up with Juj himself the other week (or was it month?) and finally got to see him other than through FaceTime, which made him look distorted to say the least. It was a good time, playing Skyrim, Minecraft, and other things pretty much the whole time, as you do. In fact, our motto for the day was ‘Skyrim ’till death!’ which we both seemed to whole heartedly believe at the time. But alas, the night proved too much for us to handle, and even two super-powered Dovahkiins have to sleep sometimes (gotta get that ‘Well Rested’ bonus). So, we slept for a few hours, and carried on. All in all, the trip was, undeniably, a huge success, barring the fact that I left my coat there, of course.

I’m pretty sure that was last month, but since then of course it’s just been me, Skyrim, and a whole load of biscuits. Fortunately I did remember that there was a real world out there, and so I’ve decided to come off for a while, seeing as amassing over 200 hours of gameplay in the first few weeks really isn’t good for my health. Then I remembered I had a blog! Yeah, I admit I did kinda forget, but hey, excessive gaming does that to you. However, I do have a boatload of pictures to share that I’ll be doing every day again, to keep me on my toes and help me to get up early. I would do a Newsspot so frequently too, but nothing on seems to grab me these days, but maybe that’ll change in the coming days.

Anyway, I’m done for now, so I’ll stop myself from rambling on and on…

The Most Exciting Week Of May

Ah, I was supposed to update you guys on Monday…or at least somewhere around that time, but I guess it just wasn’t meant to be, eh?

Well, just to ease your minds on where I have been, I’ve been at Prayer Warriors 2012 in Alton. Alton Castle, to be precise.

It was a real eye opener in many fields, and a great experience. The plenary sessions were the most informative, and the deepest parts of the weekend. I managed to get down quite a few notes and recordings, too. Prayer Warriors 2012 – Notes. It’s had to explain it all in words, so I’ll just let the notes here and pictures at the end of this post explain it all :) If you want to see all of the pictures, head over to Flickr or add me on Facebook!

The rest of my week has been fairly standard though, apart from the bus ride back home today, and the iMovie trailer that I managed to develop, that is.

The trailer was to be developed for next week’s AY session, in which we would have a panel of ‘expert’ challenging our seven core beliefs on which we grounded our faith. It’s going to be a big thing, so I was asked to put together a promotion trailer…not that I’d had much experience in that area, of course. Fortunately, the new iMovie for iPhone update came along with the iMovie ’11 feature: Trailers! It was just a matter of choosing the theme, recording the clips, adding in some pan and zoom photos, and making sure the battery didn’t die during recording. It took from around 5 till 8 to complete to a standard that I was mildly ok with before we showed it to all those who were there at the time, and to my surprise…it was a big success! Now, I haven’t quite got permission to upload it yet, but hopefully by Tuesday everything will be sorted for the final public export.

Now then, on to today. You see, I ended up going to Karen’s house to help cut her front lawn grass with her son after pathfinders, and that went all well. Especially with us pretending to be hard-core westerners from back in the 1700′s. Especially.

Anyway, it was soon coming 5:00 by the time we’d finished, so I decided to head on home and catch the bus. That was all good, but it was the route and time the bus took to get home that got to me. You see, the ride home to my house usually takes 15 minutes maximum, not 1:30 hours. So when I saw that I was going away from my house, I was a little bit worried, needless to say. Turns out though that it was the ‘normal’ route now…not that I necessarily agreed with the driver, but I went along with it, and found myself back at the bus station an hour and fifteen minutes later. Now that was annoying. I did, however, gain hope when the bus driver seemed to finally find his bearings and go towards where the sign on the bus said: Low Hill. It was an agonizing 15 minutes before I finally arrived home at 6:30, exactly an hour and a half after leaving my starting point.

I was home at last.

And that’s where I pick up my life story now! I decided to finally do a post before I got through the door, and now I’m doing it, I feel much better. I’m back on my schedule now, so things should roll a lot smoother, but until then…

Absent Without Leave

Rayman Origins

Hey there you slap happy readers!

There really is no excuse for not regularly updating this time, apart from the fact that my body clock’s been really messed up lately, and I seem to getting up later and later each day without my alarm clock. This explains the absence of the posts that I usually conjure up in the morning. The time for evening posts, however, was taken over by my new obsession commonly known as ‘Rayman Origins’. It’s an epic 2D sidescroller, set just after the events of the 1994/5 (?) ‘Rayman’, which I still own on PS1. You’ll be happy to know, though, that I’ve toned it down a bit, and I should have the free time to churn out a post or two in the evenings. Anyway, I’m typing here on borrowed time as it is though, and this was just a status post to let you all know that I am not dead, and will be updating soon, so I bid you all farewell!

Chao!

The Afternoon Article – Issue 9

Yeah…

So you’re probably wondering ‘what happened?’ or ‘no new notification emails?’, right?. I’m sorry about that, but I was distanced from my computer for quite a while, up until yesterday. I was going to do some posts yesterday too, but right before I did, I managed to cut my left hand with some glass that had cracked while I was washing up, so typing with one hand really wasn’t going to work for me. Thankfully it’s much better today, and I can maneuver it without a bandage, even if the movement is somewhat slower. Anyway, apart from that, my week hasn’t been all that eventful, so there’s not much to update you on in terms of my life. George has suddenly disappeared off iMessage (which I suspect has commuting to do with his iPod being dodgy), and my day-to-day life has gone on pretty much uninterrupted. I do, however, have a newfound interest in the state of Nevada, since as I mentioned in my photo of the day post, I’ve taken a real liking to ghost towns and deserted areas. I don’t think I could handle living in such an area, but a visit and a thourough expedition of the state would suffice. If I was going to live near, it would be in California…but not in a metropolitan area, of course. I’m not one for really busy areas, and prefer a quiet existence not too far from civilization, but not so close as to feel the brunt of a rushed lifestyle.

Anyway, at least I’m back on track now with this, so you can expect the usual amount of notification an/or emails to come through your device like before. I’m also going to make more of an effort to comment and like other fellow WordPress-user posts, and create some friendly links. Keep your eyes peeled on my Flickr photostream too, as I’ve got some photos that are near ready to be uploaded from my recent days and outings.
